What is the meaning of 'TOPETE'?

We have all heard of other Surnames and we can without any doubt have a clear and consice understanding as to "their" meaning, you "la famila Blanco?" "Blanco" is white. How about the "Gallardo" family. Someone who is full of "gallardia" must be un "gallardo". "Gallardia" means boldness thus "Gallardo" means 'one who is bold'.

But what about that mysterious and elusive word, TOPETE, which even "diccionarios de apellidos" say "origin uncertain"??? Did TOPETE's suddenly drop in from heaven and thus our Surname's origin is uncertain? Nah, not really. But there are clues and I'll put that up soon too.
