The TOPETE Coat of Arms

The TOPETE's have at least 6 various coat of arms that I have been able to document and verify, none of that baloney from websites that want to make a dollar off of you. By the way, I'm giving away FREE email addresses to any TOPETE out there... just ask for yours.

Back to Coat of Arms, we may have the designs but believe it or not even the description of each COA needs to be deciphered so that we can make sense of what the description says. We live in world where we can see even now, a web page in millions of colors, back then, well they did not have the web and the folks then did not think in terms of 16 bit resolution, 32 bit resolution, high definition etc. They were kind of stuck with about 10 or so colors (i'll correct this later for those of you purists). Believe it or not color printing was non- existant so they had to devise a system to be able to tell someone in black and white the color you are now seeing is "red". They had to tell someone this other black and white image that you are seeing, let's pretend it is "blue" and so on.

So it is here where we get into the art of Heraldry where interpretation, rules and regulations as well as practises are applied.

Following are the Coat of Arms for the TOPETE family. A key "rule" before choosing to use one as your own is to obviously determine which TOPETE family you are a descendant you are from. There are other "rules" that applied and that is addressed in the forementioned Heraldry page. This is where Genealogy, the study of ones ancestors really comes in handy.

For now though, are you a TOPETE descending of the Portuguese side of the Familia? or are you a TOPETE descending of the Spanish side of the Familia?
